Research Assistant Professor

A Research Assistant Professor position is available in Professor William Wong's group at the University of Waterloo. The successful candidate will mentor and assist students in a clean room environment developing novel platforms for large-area electronics.

The candidate will possess a Ph.D. in the area of electrical engineering with strong verbal and written communication skills, a strong industrial background, and a proven ability to communicate information effectively with students.

Required qualifications will include at least 5 years of industrial experience in the manufacturing of liquid crystal displays and development of Si-based thin-film transistors (Gen 8 systems and above). Other required skills include process development of flexible electronics for display applications, a proven track record demonstrated by patents, archival publications, and demonstrating working prototypes. They applicant should also be highly familiar with vacuum deposition thin-film processing, infra-red spectroscopy, electron microscopy, and transistor I-V characterization.
