Policy

Intellectual property, dissemination and reporting

The Giga-to-Nanoelectronics (G2N) Centre follows the University of Waterloo intellectual property policy. The Centre staff is prohibited from being party to secrecy or disclosure agreements having to do with work being performed in the Centre. G2N Centre also makes no claims to intellectual property developed independently by researchers using the Centre. To avoid the conflicts regarding the rights for intellectual property developed in the lab, the lab users are required to maintain proper research documentation, including the equipment operation notebooks.

All publications containing work enabled by the G2N Centre must contain the following acknowledgement: "This work was performed using the Giga-to-Nanoelectronics Centre facilities at the University of Waterloo". If the G2N staff contributed to the accomplishment of the research reported in the publication, then consideration should be given to the staff as co-author(s) of the publication.
